The 2025 National Ploughing Championships once again made its mark as one of the most anticipated events in Ireland’s agri-business calendar. Held in Screggan, near Tullamore in County Offaly, this year’s event welcomed record-breaking crowds, with over 80,000 attendees each day across its three-day run. As one of the largest outdoor gatherings in Europe, the Championships brought together the best of Irish agriculture, from new ideas and technologies to a strong sense of community and collaboration.

A number of Heneghan clients were among this year’s exhibitors, each bringing something unique to the table:

·      ABP Ireland focused on early career opportunities and sustainable farming initiatives, engaging visitors with insights into the Advantage Beef Programme, including the Young Farmer Academy and Water EIP Programme.

·      The Veterinary Council returned with their much-loved child-friendly stand, where young attendees had the chance to dress up as vets and vet nurses, working with lifelike animal models to learn about animal care and welfare. The interactive experience was once again a standout feature, drawing enthusiastic crowds and sparking curiosity among families.

·      Greengate Biogas participated in a discussion hosted by Stephen Robb at at the Irish Farmers Journal stand, where Development Director Leon Mekitarian joined the conversation on "Field to Fuel - How Renewable Technologies Work on Your Farm".The session explored the role of biogas in supporting sustainable farming, future-proofing the Irish livestock sector and enhancing opportunities for the tillage industry.

The Ploughing Championships once again provided a dynamic platform for engagement, education and innovation. Heneghan was proud to support our clients’ participation at this landmark event, and we look forward to continuing these important conversations in the months ahead.
